Backlink Pricing
How The Ranking Store approaches Backlink Pricing
Why Backlink Pricing Is Hard to Compare
Most buyers start with a single number: cost per link. That number hides nearly everything that determines whether a link helps — the topical relevance of the hosting site, the editorial standards behind the placement, the strength of the surrounding page, and whether the link stays live after the invoice clears. We routinely see the opposite problem too: vendors quoting one flat monthly fee that bundles placements, software and management into a single line, so the buyer cannot tell which part is producing movement and which part is padding.
There is also a risk that rarely gets priced in. Google’s published spam policies for web search treat link schemes — including paid links that pass ranking signals — as spam, so volume bought purely on price carries a cost that shows up later, not on the quote. We price with that in mind.
How The Ranking Store Builds a Backlink Price
We price from inputs, not from a per-link fantasy. First, the cost of placement itself: domains with genuine editorial standards and real topical fit cost more than domains built to sell links, and pretending otherwise just shifts the risk to the customer. Second, production — links that fit naturally need surrounding content, and that work is part of the price. Third, management: quality assurance before placement and live-link monitoring afterwards. Fourth, relevance tiering, because a link from a page about the customer’s actual subject is not interchangeable with a generic placement.
The Steps We Take
We begin by defining the target pages and the query set they need to support, since a backlink budget spent on the wrong URL is wasted regardless of price. We then screen candidate domains against relevance, indexation and content quality, and discard anything that only survives a price test. Candidates are grouped into tiers, and each tier is quoted at its own rate rather than blended into one average. Placements are built and managed through our Backlink Factory software, and we review which links went live and which need replacement.
What Customers Can Expect
An itemized quote that separates placement, production and management, so the customer can see what each tier costs and choose the mix. Predictable per-tier pricing that does not move because a supplier changed its list. Reporting focused on live placements rather than submissions. And honest boundaries: we quote what a given budget realistically buys in each tier, and we do not present link volume as a substitute for relevance.
